Product Description

The Concrete Protector's DR-4 600-800 is a premium diamond resin polishing pad designed specifically for dry Scientific Concrete Polishing systems. Used in the later stages of the polishing sequence, it delivers a finer surface finish and increased gloss in preparation for the final polishing passes. The heat-resistant phenolic resin bond and semi-flexible construction deliver consistent, efficient surface refinement on planetary and rotary floor grinders. Sold individually.

Key Benefits:

  • Fine surface refinement and increased gloss at the later polishing stage
  • Prepares surface for final finishing passes
  • Durable heat-resistant phenolic resin bond engineered for dry polishing
  • Semi-flexible construction for consistent contact across the floor surface
  • Compatible with planetary and rotary floor grinders
  • Dry use only — ideal where water is not available on the job site

Physical Properties:

  • Grit: 600-800#
  • Abrasive Material: Industrial-grade synthetic diamond
  • Bond Type: Heat-resistant phenolic resin bond
  • Pad Construction: Resin-impregnated diamond abrasive layer bonded to reinforced backing
  • Flexibility: Semi-flexible
  • Operating Method: Dry use only
  • Type: Dry Resin

Limitations:

  • Dry use only
  • For use on concrete surfaces only
  • Do not exceed the machine manufacturer's recommended RPM
  • Avoid prolonged contact with strong acids, aggressive solvents, or highly alkaline solutions
  • Excessive heat during prolonged polishing cycles can reduce resin bond life

How to Use:

  1. Attach the pad to the grinder using the hook-and-loop (Velcro) backing system, ensuring the pad is centered and securely fastened to prevent wobbling
  2. Start the grinder at the recommended RPM per machine specifications
  3. Move the machine in overlapping passes across the floor for consistent coverage. Maintain even pressure and do not force the pad to cut faster as this can cause heat buildup and premature wear
  4. Periodically stop and inspect the floor for uniform surface refinement and gloss development
  5. Remove excess dust with a vacuum or dry mop to maintain effective pad performance
  6. Once the surface is refined, proceed to final grit resin pads for full gloss development
